Yukana residents have had the opportunity to take a walk down memory lane as they gathered to watch chicks hatching in a specially designed hatcher and taking their first wobbly steps in a large brooding pen. Many memories were shared as residents talked about their childhood ‘chicken coop’ experiences.
It was a novelty to have a little piece of country at Yukana and a great hit with the residents, who enjoyed holding the tiny chicks and stroking their soft, fluffy feathers.
