A personal ANZAC Day at Yukana

This year’s ANZAC Day service at Yukana was a little more personal for residents and staff who were privileged to be addressed by one of our own. Lead Carer, Alana Dunsmuir, comes from a long line of defence personnel, she herself serving in the Army in Afghanistan.

Last Tuesday Alana delivered an address full of pride and passion. She spoke briefly about her service in Afghanistan, and of the sacrifices made by all soldiers past and present. She shared passionately about the camaraderie between mates and of the struggles experienced, not only in the field but after returning home. She also spoke of the families who share this journey, providing love and support.

Her address was both inspirational and thought provoking.
