Community pancakes for breakfast

Residents and management staff at Yukana caught up recently at a special pancake breakfast. Those in attendance found the morning both relaxing and enjoyable as they socialised for several hours in the perfect weather.

Outdoor gathering

With the hot weather over the previous months residents were more than happy to have the get-together in the cooler temperature of the morning. With the event being held in the Village’s beautiful outdoor BBQ Gazebo residents found it much more comfortable having an 8am gathering.

The pancake breakfast was the delivery of a promise to residents made at a previous breakfast event. Instead of a savoury breakfast, residents agreed it would be nice to try something new and fresh, such as sweet pancakes.

Spoilt for choice

Residents were spoilt for choice when it came to the variety of toppings on offer. Fresh strawberry and banana, butter, maple syrup, cream, lemon and sugar were provided on each table. After being served their pancakes, resident enjoyed choosing their own toppings to create individualised plates of deliciousness.

For some it was their first time having pancakes for breakfast. Everyone agreed that it was a very enjoyable experience. Some early risers even came along for a second breakfast as their first one had been hours beforehand. Others decided they would come just for a cuppa and the company.

Time spent together

As usual at this type of gathering, management staff cooked and served while the residents sat and chatted. Afterwards the residents were joined by staff for an opportunity to spend time talking, asking questions and generally just catching up.

It was time enjoyed not only by the residents but also the staff. Everyone is looking forward to the next opportunity to spend time together relaxing and socialising.
